We're All Human
If sport intersects with your world anywhere you probably saw that Lewis Hamilton won his first Grand Prix in a Ferrari car
If you don't like F1 don't worry there is a point to this
The story is his resurgence, oldest race winner since the 1970s and his first race win since 2024. A long time for the most decorated driver in the sports history
But there's another story that caught my eye
Last year was a real struggle for Lewis, he's changed teams after a long stint with his old team and it wasn't working out - he was visibly and audibly in a low emotional state
At an event a fan shouted to him "Remember who you are mate, you've done it before and you can do it again"
Trivial enough right?
After Lewis won he referenced this in his post-race interview and said it helped him to get out of his own head and a negative spiral
Not a manager, not an engineer, not a peer, not even a family member or friend
A random fan
Remember this the next time you believe someone to be above you, further ahead than you or more superior
We can learn lessons from anyone because they have a perspective outside of our own
We're all human
